Details of Business Transacted by the Research Analyst
- Publish research reports based on research activities.
- Provide an independent, unbiased view on securities; disclose financial interests in recommended securities.
- Base recommendations on publicly available information and observed facts.
- Conduct annual audits and ensure advertisements follow the RA Advertisement Code.
- Maintain records of client/prospect interactions related to research services.
Details of Services Provided to Investors
- Onboarding: Complete KYC of fee-paying clients (where applicable).
- Distribute reports/recommendations without discrimination; maintain confidentiality until public release.
- Respect data-privacy rights; protect confidential client information.
- Disclose timelines for services and adhere to them.
- Provide clear guidance/caution while dealing in complex or high-risk products.
- Treat all clients with honesty and integrity.
Disclosures to Clients
- Material information to make an informed decision: business activity, disciplinary history, T&C of research services, associates, risks, conflicts (if any).
- Extent of use of Artificial Intelligence tools in research services (if applicable).
- For third-party research, disclose material conflicts of the provider or share the provider’s disclosure URL.
- Any conflict between research services and other activities of the Research Analyst.
Disclosures are issued in the spirit of transparency and investor protection.
Grievance Redressal
- Write to the Research Analyst with details of your grievance. The RA endeavors to resolve within 21 days of receipt.
- SCORES 2.0 (SEBI): file a complaint via the centralized web system: scores.sebi.gov.in
- Designated Body (RAASB): First review by RAASB; second review by SEBI.
- SMART ODR: If unsatisfied, you may escalate on SMARTODR for online conciliation/arbitration.
Rights of Investors
- Privacy & confidentiality; transparent practices; fair & equitable treatment.
- Adequate, continuing disclosures; fair & true advertising.
- Awareness of service parameters and turnaround times.
- To be heard and receive timely redressal; right to exit as per agreed terms.
- Clear guidance/caution on complex & high-risk products.
- Additional facilitation if differently abled; ability to provide feedback.
- Protection against coercive/unfair/one-sided clauses in financial agreements.
Responsibilities / Good Practices for Investors
- Always deal with SEBI-registered Research Analysts; verify registration number on SEBI’s website (RA list).
- Read all disclosures in research reports before acting.
- Pay fees only via banking channels and keep signed receipts (or via RAASB CeFCoM if opted).
- Before buying/selling/applying in public offers, check the RA’s recommendation.
- Ask relevant questions; seek clarifications especially for complex/high-risk products.
- Know you can stop services and provide feedback at any time per agreed terms.
- Report any assured/guaranteed return claims to SEBI.
- Don’ts: Do not provide funds to the Research Analyst for investment. Do not get lured by limited-period discounts, incentives, or gifts. Do not share login credentials of trading/demat/bank accounts with the RA.
